Hi! My name is Mackenzie Gay. I have been going to the DR with the Lighthouse Projects since 2019. I had always wanted to get involved in missions but the previous opportunities never worked out. I wanted a mission that I knew I could build long-term relationships with and watch grow over the years.

Finally, everything worked out and I was able to go to the DR with people who would quickly become some of my most treasured relationships. I talked with people who had been there with the team before, looked at countless pictures, and asked a million questions. However, every answer I was given and pictures that I looked at did not even come close to expressing how special this country, its people, and this mission are. I quickly realized that the Lighthouse Projects was the exact answer to the type of organization that I wanted to be a part of to do what the Lord was calling me to do.

The investment that the Lighthouse Projects has within the communities is truly beautiful to see as they provide resources, jobs, and most importantly an example of the love of Jesus. The Lord’s presence is evident throughout the ministry, its relationships, and its impact on the communities. I see His face in the smiles, the tears, and the sweat. I hear His voice in the laughter, the excitement of families in the community reuniting with team members, and in the busy streets of the DR (if you know, you know). I am so thankful to be a small part of an organization that has and will continue to change lives in Jesus’ name. I hope that you, too, will consider being a part of this special ministry in this beautiful country. I promise that you will forever be changed. Gloria a Dios!
